On behalf of the International Organization for Marine Aids to Navigation (IALA), it is my pleasure to welcome our members to the IALA Conference on Marine Aids to Navigation for Successful Voyages and a Sustainable Planet, taking place 8–12 November 2027 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai, India, in parallel with India Maritime Week 2027. In an era of rapid technological change and increasing pressure on the marine environment, the role of Marine Aids to Navigation is evolving—supporting safer, smarter and more efficient voyages, while contributing to a more sustainable maritime sector. This 21st IALA Conference will provide a focused forum for IALA members and partners to share experience, explore emerging practices and strengthen collaboration across administrations, industry and international organizations. I extend my sincere thanks to our hosts and organisers, and I encourage you to join us in Mumbai for a week of engaging discussions, practical insights and new connections. I look forward to meeting many of you in person and to the shared progress we will make—together with our members—towards successful voyages and a sustainable planet.
